PracandyWalls vs Backdrops: Which Android Wallpaper App
The PracandyWalls Team
Short answer
PracandyWalls is the better pick if you want an ad-free Android wallpaper app without paying anything: it is free, curated in HD and 4K, and has no ads, for life.
Backdrops is the better pick if you want original wallpapers designed in-house that are not in other apps, a daily featured wallpaper and a Google Play install. Its listing says it contains ads that can be removed with an in-app purchase.

Where PracandyWalls is better
PracandyWalls has no ads at all, and you do not have to buy anything to get there. You browse curated wallpapers, filter by mood and colour, preview each one at full resolution and set your home screen, lock screen or both.
Where Backdrops is better
Backdrops makes its own wallpapers. Its listing says they are hand-crafted in-house by the Backdrops team and not found in any other app, with a Wall of the Day, premium collections to unlock and a Pro Pack of exclusive backgrounds. Approved community uploads sit in their own tab.
It installs from Google Play, can sync favourites across devices with Google sign-in, works with Muzei to rotate favourites, and is included in Google Play Pass. Going Pro removes its ads.
The trade-off
If original art you will not see elsewhere matters most and you are happy to pay to remove ads, Backdrops is a strong choice. If you want a free app that has no ads from the first launch, PracandyWalls is the simpler one.
